About Our MSK Services

What exactly is an MSK concern?

Musculoskeletal concerns involve any issues related to the "machinery" of your body—your muscles, bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and nerves. If it affects how you move or support your weight, it falls under MSK care.

Will I need an X-ray or MRI?

Not always. Many MSK issues can be diagnosed through a physical exam and functional testing. If imaging is required to confirm a diagnosis or rule out a fracture, our clinicians will provide the necessary requisitions immediately.

Can you provide a referral for Physiotherapy?

Yes. We often work in tandem with physical therapists, chiropractors, and massage therapists. We can provide the clinical referral and medical documentation often required by private insurance providers to cover these paramedical services.

Is this covered by provincial health insurance?

The consultation, physical examination, and most diagnostic imaging requisitions (like X-rays and Ultrasounds) are covered by your provincial health plan (such as OHIP).

Do you offer injections for joint pain?

Depending on the clinic location and the specific clinician, we may offer various injection therapies (such as corticosteroid or hyaluronic acid) to manage inflammation and pain. This can be discussed during your initial assessment.

How do I know if I should see a doctor or just "rest it"?

If your pain is accompanied by significant swelling, an inability to bear weight, numbness, or if it hasn't improved with 48 to 72 hours of rest, it is important to have a professional clinical evaluation to prevent further injury.
